Answers:

How do I add an additional sensor to the pre-programmed kit?

Enter your Installer code 1234 + Away
Enter “Auto Memory Stepping” 966 + AWAY
Enter the location of the zone you wish to add or change. In this example, we will add Zone 4 to the system. Zone 4 is location 288 in the systems memory. 288 + AWAY
Enter the zone type. This digit tells the system how Zone 4 is going to react when triggered. In this example, we will make zone 4 a delay zone. This means we need to enter a “2” in this location.Some examples of often used zone types are set out below. 2 + STAY  (Remember to use the STAY button in this step).
Exit program mode 960 + AWAY

Other useful Memory Locations:

Zone 1 = Location 267
Zone 2 = Location 274
Zone 3 = Location 281
Zone 4 = Location 288
Zone 5 = Location 295
Zone 6 = Location 302
Zone 7 = Location 309
Zone 8 = Location 316

Other useful Zone Types.

0 = Instant
1 = Handover (This zone becomes a delay zone only if a Delay-1 or Delay-2 zone has been triggered first)
2 = Delay-1 (Controlled by the Delay-1 entry time)
3 = Delay-2 (Controlled by the Delay-2 entry time)
12 = 24hr Burglary
13 = 24hr Fire
14 = Chime
15 = Disables the Zone. (You do not need to put a resistor across the terminals)

How do I add a keyfob to a Ultima 880 Kit?

1. Enter the master code, then 1, then AWAY 2580 + 1 + AWAY
2. Enter the 1st key-fob programming location 09 + AWAY
3. Enter the numbers on the back of the 1st key-fob. Example: 027123456 + AWAY
4. Enter the default master code, then 1, then AWAY 2580 + 1 + AWAY
5. Enter the 2nd key-fob programming location 10 + AWAY
6. Enter the numbers on the back of the 2nd key-fob Example: 0271254456 + AWAY

How do I change the mastercode on a pre-programmed kit?

1. Enter the default master code 2580 + 1 + AWAY
2. Enter the programming location of the Master Code 1 + AWAY
3. Enter the new Master code. 5678 + AWAY
This is now your new master code.

How do I change the Installer code on a Ultima 880?

1. Enter the default installer code 1234 + AWAY
2. Switch on “Auto stepping” 966 + AWAY
3. Enter the programming location of the Installer Code 181 + AWAY
4. Enter the new Installer Code, press STAY after each number. This example shows a new Installer code of 9876. Important: If you think you have made an error, go back to step 3. Once the installer code has been changed, the only way of recovering the code is by defaulting the entire system.
9 + STAY
8 + STAY
7 + STAY
6 + STAY

5. Exit programming mode 960 + AWAY

Can I add a smoke detector to the Ultima 880?

Yes.
Any zone on the Ultima 880 can be programmed as a "24hr Fire zone". The system even has a default Output-2 set as "Fire reset" for latching type smoke detectors.

How do I default a Solution 880 (also 844, 862, and Ultima's)?

Defaulting the system will return it’s programming to the Bosch factory defaults as per the reference sheet that comes with the system. It will NOT return the system to the Technology Matters Free Programming default.

Warning: Once defaulted, the system will loose all current programming and return to the Bosch factory default settings.

1. Power down the system, including both plug pack and battery.
2. Hold your finger on the “default” button located near the centre top of the main board.
3. Power up the system (battery or plug pack) without removing your finger from the button.
4. Continue holding your finger down on the default button for 5 secs.
5. Let go of the default button.
6. The system is now defaulted.

How can I find the installer code on an old panel?

The bottom line is that you can't find the installer code if you don't know what it is. The only way to gain access to programming is by defaulting the system. Some systems can be locked out so that no one except the original installer can default the panel.
